There are quite a few authentic sex clubs, like CDL, New Action, Mutschmann’s, Connection Club, The Jaxx, Tom’s Bar, Scheune and many, many others. The surrounding areas of Nollendorfplatz, particularly along Motzstrasse and Fuggerstrasse, form the historical and old-school gay area of the German capital. Explore these last two “off the beaten path” areas at your own risk! Of course, you can also try “pulling a George-Michael” in one of the toilets, in the less cruisy big section of the park, towards the Brandenburg Gate. Juni and the other one, on the other side of the avenue, behind the Hansaviertel’s modernist buildings. There are also two – let’s say, “dirtier” – areas: one around the small lake towards the Strasse des 17. The main cruising area is called Tuntenwiese, or “faggot meadow”, on the south side of the Victory Column and on the west side of the Hofjäggerallee, full of FKK (the German naturism) enthusiasts in the summer. The eponymous park in the heart of the city is one of the biggest green areas of Berlin and since the Weimar Republic, with its libertarian 1920s, it’s been a space for gay cruising.
